Please contact us if you have ideas about realisation or contribution or if you would like to fund a new feature!I am willing to dedicate some real time and purpose to such a project. We will need a bit more organization form the top down though. I'm joining a couple of the mailing lists towards that end and i would really like to get the ball rolling on this. I use drupal privately and professionally and both would benefit immensely from this project. While I would love for such a project to be self sustaining (wiki or otherwise) i think it will require some early heavy seeding to get things going. Perhaps integrating "development time frame" as a field into project_issue module would also provide some structure to help make the "feature improvements" process more organic. Omega 3.1 release goals

It's not so much you guys not having a roadmap -- it's that there already is a roadmap for a Drupal 7-based CRM. It was developed by the Drupal community, and we were fortunate enough at the Copenhagen BoF to have on board experts who have been working in the CRM space for years This solution is based loosely on the very successful Debian Linux model. Please see the (brief) introduction to this approach at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases#Introduction if you are not familiar with Debian stable/testing/unstable . Version 1.16 current release (released May 15, 2020) Goals for Version 1.17 (release scheduled for September 15, 2020) Goals for future 1.x releases; Version 2.0 (not before Jan 2024) Key features in version 1.16 Release date: May 15th, 202 The Drupal Association thanks Acquia for being the #1 contributor to Drupal - With Acquia you can build, run, and optimize sites on the only Digital Experience Platform that's made for Drupal. This was originally a very off-topic and long-winded post on http://drupal.org/node/1366940. That version was edited for brevity and for lack of a better place, I'm posting the longer op-ed piece here. Following discussions there regarding Drupal release cycles, and the idea of bugfix / stability releases every second release, I wanted to add these points about the silent majority: The users out there, and their needs.

Unofficial Drupal Roadmap Drupal Group

  1. g around the pieces we are trying to implement for the Drupal 6 core i18n feature set (which will get shipped with Drupal 6 hopefully), we should define some goals which we aim for, so we see the target. Unless we work in the same direction, there will be no useable consistent i18n solution in Drupal core for people to build their sites on. So what is possible to accomplish in the Drupal 6 timeframe, and what will only be possible to implement in contrib modules?
  2. The release cycles for Drupal 7, 8 and 9 were all vague and undefined. Now in 2018, the future looks much clearer. Back in April, Drupal got a product roadmap for the first time. Then, at Drupal Europe this year, Dries gave the keynote and provided a clear roadmap for future Drupal versions
  3. If you're interested, join us in IRC at #drupal-media. After giving the module a spin (you'll need Drupal 7 Alpha 1, Media, Styles, and WYSIWYG + CKEditor, and optionally Media: Flickr and/or Media: YouTube), you should subscribe to the Issue queue. (You can also see recent screenshots at AaronWinborn.com.)

This roadmap was started at the code sprint at DrupalCon London with Johan Falk, Barry Madore and Heather James. We also consulted the docs team as well to make sure we didn't have overlap. This is a temporary document, used for discussing updates for the open curriculum road map. Next week is the time for you to jump in if you're interested in developing for the project! It's been loads of fun, from the initial discussions and plans over a year ago with arthurf, dopry, drewish, Roger López, myself and others, to fantastic core Drupal 7 integration of stream wrappers by pwolanin and GSOC student jmstacey, to some powerhouse #d7ux magic by mverbaar and Jody Lynn, to the latest overhaul introducing Media fieldable entities (with an eye for core Drupal 8) and WYSIWYG integration by JacobSingh and dipen chaudhary, with some potential upcoming fine-tuning from jQuery guru dmitrig01.These epics still need further research and refinement. Usually the roadmap is planned once a month 2 months ahead, but things might always change, depending on shifting priorities or because companies are funding features. Please contact us if you have ideas about realisation or contribution or if you would like to fund a new feature! The Omega changelog and release roadmap section of the Omega Handbook is intended to serve as a method for tracking changes to the Omega theme.. Making it easier to outline a roadmap to future minor and major releases. With a surge in support and feature requests in the issue queue, it has become quite difficult to sort through the issues that are truly pending a new release, and thus makes. I think a roadmap, combined with a transparent process to influence, contribute, and fund features, themes, child distributions, installation profiles to documentation and training would be a great way for stakeholders and community members to help sustain and grow the project. Creating an Open Collective would provide such a mechanism for stakeholders to help sustain the entire project and/or specific features. With Open Source Collective 501c6 (Non Profit) as a host, there would be additional benefits, exposure for the project, and opportunity for collaboration with over 490 projects and communities.

To implement this kind of "testing" release for Drupal would be laregly semantics and rethinking how we refer to releases on drupal.org. It would not require extra work or compromise from anybody, nor changes to existing workflow or versioning. In fact, it improves life and reduces stress for contributors. Drupal 7 roadmap and release schedule. Last updated 14 November 2019. At this point in the D7 branch's life cycle it makes sense to have a separate roadmap from D8/9. This is initially a draft. Feedback is very welcome, but please do not edit it if you are not a core maintainer I wrote at http://acquia.com/blog/drupalcon-buzz-can-we-say-r-word-drupal-8 asking questions about whether we need to collect together various roadmaps and plans in a central place to communicate a "plan" to developers and Drupal users.

The Omega changelog and release roadmap section of the Omega Handbook is intended to serve as a method for tracking changes to the Omega theme. Drupal is one of the largest open source communities in the world. Each year Drupal.org and its sub-sites serve millions of visitors, and thousands of active contributors. It is one of the largest continuously operating Drupal sites in the world. And because of that, it has 15 years of legacy content and features. At this scale, it's impossible to make real improvements t Should it be a wiki roadmap, or maintained by one person? How finegrained do we want to see the roadmap? Can we facilitate contrib developers with roadmap features? Do we need a roadmap module?I have been writing up a white paper on how Drupal could work, but wanted to submit an initial and important first step. I know allot of people see comments as nodes being a major issue. Many want it, while others site potential problems with performance. Without comments as Nodes we have no code uniformity making any CCK features and Views features needing exceptions based on if its a node or if its a comment.

Problem Summary. Currently on Drupal.org, we recommend the very latest release version of Drupal core as the recommended download. But, it often takes Contrib and Docs much longer to catch up to the point where the system is stable and easy to use from an end user (site builder) perspective This page is targeted towards Drupal contributors hoping to jump in and make the next release a success.
